About Hillcrest Masonry

For over 10 years Jeremy R. Brown has been perfecting his skills as a mason in many New England locations.

As Jeremy was growing up he began working with his father in commercial construction. Learning basic carpentry skills, framing and applications of construction principles aid him in his work as a mason now. Various types of projects, including church restoration work, have given Jeremy a solid understanding of the structures that support and contain his masonry. This additional insight enhances his ability to deal with design and building issues. Hillcrest Masonry provides services for all types of traditional masonry.

Jeremy apprenticed with Albie Barden, of Maine Wood Heat, building masonry heaters and Le Panyol Ovens (wood fired ovens). His keen interest in masonry heaters and the advantages they offer became a main focus. Discovering the inherent quality in this manner of heating has formed Jeremy’s dedication to bringing it to his clients.

As a Massachusetts native, Jeremy had a natural awareness and curiosity about historic preservation and reproduction. He has had the unique opportunity of working under the experienced and knowledgeable Richard Irons in the field of Historic Restoration Masonry. This experience has given him skill and knowledge about repairing and restoring antique fireplaces and chimneys as he worked on many significant old houses on the North Shore. Exposure to classical techniques and methods has supplied Jeremy with expertise he applies to all of his projects.
